To activate your Paramount+ account on a new device, you need to link your TV to your account using a unique code. This process connects your TV app to your active subscription without typing complex passwords with a remote.

How to Get Your Activation Code

The first step requires generating the code directly on your TV screen.

    • Open the Paramount+ app on your Smart TV, Roku, or Fire Stick.
    • Select the Sign In button. Do not select “Try it Free” if you already have a subscription.
    • Choose the option labeled On the Web. This option usually sits next to “On my TV.”
    • Locate the 5-digit or 6-digit activation code displayed on the center of your screen.
    • Keep this screen open. Leaving this screen often invalidates the code.

Enter the Code on Your Computer or Phone

You must now use a second device to complete the pairing process.

    1.   Open a web browser on your phone, tablet, or laptop.

    2.   Type paramountplus.com/tv into the address bar and hit Enter. This URL redirects you to the specific activation page.

    3.   Enter the activation code exactly as it appears on your TV.

    4.   Click or tap the Activate button.

    5.   Log in with your email and password if the site prompts you.

    6.   Watch your TV screen. It usually refreshes automatically within 10 seconds to show your home screen.

    Troubleshooting Invalid Codes

Sometimes the technology fails. If you see an “Invalid Code” error, try these fixes immediately.

    • Refresh the code. Codes expire quickly for security reasons. If you waited more than 10-15 minutes, the code is dead. Go back on your TV, select Back, and choose On the Web again to generate a fresh sequence.
    • Check for typos. It is easy to confuse the letter O with the number 0, or a capital I with the number 1. Look closely at the font on your TV screen.
    • Clear your browser cache. Old data in your phone’s browser can block the activation script. Open your browser settings, clear your cache, and try paramountplus.com/activate again.
    • Use a Private Window. Open an Incognito or Private tab. This prevents conflicting logins from other accounts (like a friend’s or family member’s) from interfering.

    Instructions for Specific Devices

While the general process stays the same, buttons and menus vary slightly by manufacturer.

    Roku Devices

    • Navigate to the Settings menu inside the Paramount+ app if the sign-in screen does not appear immediately.
    • Select Sign In.
    • Choose paramountplus.com as your login method.
    • Enter the code on your mobile device.

    Amazon Fire TV

    • Launch the app from your Home screen.
    • Select Sign In.
    • Choose the On the Web option.
    • Use a mobile browser to visit paramountplus.com/tv. Amazon sometimes suggests using a QR code, which works identically to the manual URL method.

    Apple TV

    • Open Paramount+.
    • Click Sign In.
    • Select On the Web.
    • Input the code at paramountplus.com/tv. Note that Apple TV users can sometimes use their Apple ID to log in directly, but the web code method is more reliable for cross-platform accounts.

Why Use the Web Activation Method?

Typing email addresses and complex passwords with a directional pad on a TV remote frustrates most users. The paramountplus.com/tv method solves this by offloading the typing to a device with a real keyboard. This method also improves security by keeping your password hidden from anyone else in the room looking at the big screen.

    Common Activation Errors and Fixes

Technical glitches happen. Here is how you handle them without calling support.

The TV Screen Did Not Refresh

If you entered the code successfully on your phone but your TV still shows the code screen:

    • Force close the app on your TV.
    • Relaunch it.
    • Check if you are logged in. Often the data went through, but the screen failed to update visually.

    “Device Limit Reached”

Paramount+ limits the number of simultaneous streams. While you can install the app on many devices, you cannot stream on all of them at once. If you receive this error during activation, log out of an old tablet or phone you no longer use.

    Browser Redirects to Homepage

If entering paramountplus.com/tv sends you to the main homepage instead of an activation box:

    • Log in to your account on the browser first.
    • Type the URL again after you are signed in. The system sometimes needs to know who you are before it asks for a device code.

    Final Success Checklist

Confirm you have completed these steps before you start streaming.

    • TV screen shows your profile icon.
    • Mobile browser says “Success! Your device is now ready.”
    • Subscription status in your account settings shows Active.

You can now stream your content. If problems persist, verify your internet connection on both devices. Both your TV and your phone need active signals to communicate the handshake.
